Can I just tell you that when I saw Katelyn get out of the car, I was so excited to meet her and when I saw her beautiful dress, I said Girl! We match!! I was wearing a light pink shirt with stripes so I felt like we all matched for our session together so if we got separated, someone could have helped point us in the direction of the other one wearing pink stripes! haha.
Katelyn and Ben were so much fun! I just loved how much he made her laugh! They have the sweetest personalities and it’s evident how in love they are. Katelyn’s daughter Alexa joined us for this session and it was so amazing to see how much Ben loves her too! The way he looks at both of his girls made makes my heart smile! What an amazing story they have and an amazing little girl who will be in their wedding standing next to them as they exchange their vows.
Katelyn, Ben and Alexa, Thanks for hanging out with me on the most perfect August night! The location you picked is one of my favorites and I am so thankful for you guys getting in the quick sandy waters for an epic family photo! I hope you love your photos and I can not wait to see you for your wedding day!
I just love when I get to explore different places with my wonderful couples! Callie and John chose 2 destinations for their engagement session and I am so excited to share with you the magic that happened! Callie and John were going to have their engagement session a few weeks ago but the weather was not looking good. Even if it cleared up for their session, she was really hoping to have a beautiful sun set and not the over cast clouds. So, we decided to move their session and boy oh boy, I know I am excited, and they are excited that we did!
The weather for their engagement session could not have been any more perfect! It felt like a fall day here in New England and the sun did exactly what I was hoping it would! We started our session at World’s End in Hingham, MA. We found the most perfect tree that had the sun directly behind it which is where we started the session! The magic in these photos with the way the sun is glowing through the trees makes me so happy!
Callie and John were so amazing and up for anything I suggested! They were naturals in front of the camera and I just loved the way they look at each other! I am so excited to photograph their wedding day next year! Callie and John, Thank you so much for a fun night! You guys were such troopers climbing the rocks at the beach (in heels Callie!) Thank you thank you thank you!! I have so many favorites from our session together, grab a coffee and check them out!! xoxo
We were looking at the forecast a few days before this session and my heart kept sinking each time I saw thunderstorms with a 60% chance of rain on and off all day. We had our session scheduled for 6:30pm, two hours before sun set and the forecast at that time was all over the place. It went from a high percent of rain to one where it would still be okay to have a session. We talked throughout the day and decided to go for it and man, I am so excited we did! While it down-poured driving through Boston, it stopped when I arrived at the Harvard Arboretum. With over cast skies, and zero rain the whole time we were together, we kept saying how happy we were not to cancel. I just love this location and I am so excited to share their photos with you!
Colleen and Keith have a really fun story to share about how they met! If this isn’t fate, I don’t know what is! ” We have a great story about how we met. I was studying abroad in Amsterdam and decided to visit some other friends who were studying abroad in Ireland during St. Patty’s Day weekend. When we were out one night I actually met Keith in a pub! After that weekend I flew back to Amsterdam and heard from my sister a few weeks later… she was asking if I met a guy named Keith while I was in Ireland? I said I did and it just so happens that Keith was a substitute teacher for my sister at the same place where I went to high school! So I eventually come back home and it turns out that Keith was living 10 minutes away from the house I grew up in. It also turns out that he graduated from the same college as me 2 years before (Stonehill College), we had the same major, same academic adviser and we just never crossed paths! Two and a half years later we’re engaged! :)” How amazing is their story?! I really do believe that things happen for a reason!
Colleen and Keith, I loved getting to hang out with you guys! I am so excited for your wedding day and I am also so excited to share this blog and your final images with you! Thank you so much for braving the rain and meeting with me! It was a perfect night and still can not believe we had zero rain! Enjoy this little sneak peek of your engagement photos! These are just a few of my favorites! xo.
It’s been over a year of planning… a year dreaming about their wedding day. I still remember sitting down with Carrie and Kelsey meeting them for the first time at Starbucks learning all about them. How they met, where they work, what their wedding vision- was when all they knew at the time was their wedding date and their venue. We sat together in Starbucks for over 2 hours! I knew that these ladies were so much fun that their engagement session and wedding day were going to be amazing! Never in a million years would I have been able to tell you that just months before their big day, a world wide pandemic was happening.
Kelsey and I were in contact throughout the months leading up to their date. We were all hopeful that we would be able to still have their big wedding at The Preserve at Chocorua on May 23, 2020. Just 1 year after Carrie proposed. We chatted over the phone, through emails, through texts and about 2 weeks before their day, they needed to have a change of plans, however, May 23 is a special date for them, and they were planning to exchange vows that day even if it was not the way they originally thought it would be. They will still have a wedding with many friends and family in attendance at their original venue in July and we all can not wait!
We were still all ordered to stay at home and only essential workers were to be out. Hopeful that this stay at home order would be changing soon, with the idea that social distancing would continue on, it finally did, the week of May 23! In just a short two weeks time, Kelsey and Carrie planned to have an intimate elopement at Kelsey’s parents home. They had a ceremony outside on the porch with their closest friends and immediate family present. It was truly such a perfect day and I am so thankful that I was a part of it! They shared their first dance in the back yard of the home and they even had many friends and family drive by to send their well wishes from a distance in a car parade! The love and support that these two ladies have just make me so happy. Everyone was so kind and so loving and it really made me so happy to witness all of the love with the small amount of people that were there. I am so excited to see them again, and capture a second wedding with even more love and support from their family and friends in July!
Carrie and Kelsey, THANK YOU. Thank you for having the BEST attitude when life was flipped upside down having to completely change your original wedding day plans. Thank you for keeping me in the loop with all updates and thank you for trusting me to capture the best day of you lives this day ( and again in July!) I am so grateful that I finally got to meet the handsome Brayden! He is one lucky little guy to have you both as his mom. Here are some of my favorite photos from your (1st) wedding day!
Kelsey and Carrie had their ceremony documented and shared on Facebook Live for those who were not able to be there in person this day. Here is the video:

I am still so excited for them and I am looking forward to giving them both hugs once this is all over! Enjoy their engagement session photos for some E-sesh inspo!
** FROM THEIR PREVIOUS BLOG**
Alyssa and Craig had their engagement session this past fall in downtown Portsmouth, NH. I have only been to this town twice before their session and I have to say I am so glad they chose here! I just loved that we had so many different locations to choose from, and the light was just so perfect! The weather was starting to get a little chilly, but it felt good to walk around without jackets, chatting the whole time and laughing! We had so much fun and I am so excited to celebrate the Eve of Henry’s birthday with them this April!
