Wedding Day Mindset Coach | Wedding Wednesday

Are you a Bride who is planning your wedding and are feeling stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed by all the things? What if I told you that there is a resource out there that helps you have a direct focus on Brides navigating the Coronavirus currently and working to help them feel good again while planning their wedding. You will learn how to transform those feelings into calmness, peace, and absolute joy through your planning and most importantly on your wedding day!

Wedding Day Mindset Coach is a new resource, created by Cassidy Thompson, she is there for you through your journey and she can not wait to meet you! After spending the past 11 years in the wedding industry running @thompsonphotographygroup and @stonewallestate she has decided to help all the planning couples with their wedding Day Mindset.

When I talked to Cassidy about Wedding Day Mindset, she said ” I’ve seen so many times over the years when brides couldn’t get out of their head and into their hearts to enjoy their wedding day. After so much time and investment going into your wedding day, the last thing you want is to miss out on the magic of YOUR wedding day because of something “going wrong” or not happening exactly as planned etc. So I am here to help guide you through all the things, help you connect with the peace and calmness within you, open up to new perspectives about life and the wedding planning process including your fiancé, and your family etc. Because let’s face it, I get it, it can be really hard and emotional at times. Weddings definitely bring out heightened emotions in everyone involved. However that does not mean that you should not enjoy every second of your wedding day. You deserve it!”

One of the worst things that can happen to a bride would be having to reschedule her wedding day. With all the unexpected COVID-19 situations we’ve faced, Rachel and Joe were one of my many couples that had to make the decision “Do we proceed or reschedule?”  Instead of completely rescheduling their plans, they just changed it up a bit! Instead of the original venue they had picked, they chose to be married in their backyard with their close friends and immediate family with a zoom set up with almost all of their guests!

When they told me they were planning to keep their wedding date but have their day be much smaller than planned, at their home, I was so excited for them. I had been to their home before as some of their engagement photos were taken in their backyard. Now, they were going to be saying vows right in the yard where when they walk out of their home, they can look over and memories of this amazing day will come rushing to them. It was perfect.

They had just a few family and friends there which allowed for social distancing and safety measures due to COVID-19. I kept my mask on used my lenses that allowed for distance to be between us all.

They had beautiful details to make their day special and I loved getting to photograph them all. The cake, the champagne glasses, the bracelet she wore, The wedding gown,  the grooms boutonnière, the groom pocket square and the bride and groom’s face masks all have a special meaning for them.  I remember the day Rachel had picked out her wedding dress, she emailed me a photo of it full of excitement! Since that email, I could not wait to see it in person and my gosh, it was AMAZING! It was truly made for her! The way it flowed in the wind and how she would just play with it to make it move was so beautiful! The detail on the dress was something I had never seen before on a wedding gown-  There was orange and blue color design with the words “Je T’Aime” throughout. You really needed to look hard to see it, but it’s there and it is just so classy and romantic.

You see, COVID did not stop them from keeping their wedding date. Things were definitely not as they originally planned, but the beauty that was made out of this situation is all that matters. I guess one benefit of a covid wedding is that I get to see them again next year! Yep, They will have their Castle in the Clouds wedding next June and all the family and friends that joined this celebration on Zoom, will be there in person. For now, they can look back at their original date and remember the official day they became husband and wife.

Rachel and Joe, I can not thank you enough for inviting me back to your home to capture this special day for you. I missed you guys ( and Pepper!) and I just loved that I was there to see you exchange your vows and capture these memories for you. The day was so perfect and emotional in so many ways. Watching you guys light up seeing your biggest fans on Zoom gave me all the feels, and the fact that many of them dressed up for the occasion is so awesome!  I am excited to get to see them all in person next year. Nutmeg is adorable and the way she was trying to take over Pirates speech was too funny. I wish you both so much happiness and good memories each time you walk into your backyard. I am excited to celebrate again next year with you guys, but for now, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek of your “first” wedding day. I love you guys! xoxo

June has been a month of baby talk! A few weeks ago I shot THIS beautiful Maternity Session. Then, I received an email from a friend of mine that they were having a birthday parade for their daughter, Ellie who was turning 2 along with a small gathering for a gender reveal at their home. I planned to go to both the birthday parade and gender reveal with the kids and I asked her if she wanted me to bring my camera along! She responded how much of a gift that would be, so the kiddos, my camera and I went to celebrate!

It was really sweet to see the little birthday girl and her mama’s baby bump! At 11 weeks, its showing slightly and its adorable! Close friends gathered around after the parade as mom and dad popped a balloon revealing the gender of their new baby coming soon!

Congratulations Duffy family! I am so excited for you! Ellie is going to be the BEST big sister!! <3

On June 4th our town celebrated their last day of school. I was invited to take photos of a Kindergarten Graduation from one of my good friends whose daughter was graduating. Ethan, Henry and I were so excited to celebrate even if it meant we needed to stay 6 ft. apart ( or more) and wear masks.

We made posters that the boys held as the cars drive by seeing their teachers for the last time this school year while I took their photos. We had so much fun getting to meet all the Kindergarten teachers which was awesome since this is the school Ethan will be attending this upcoming September. They were all so nice and Ethan can not wait to see them again! To this day he still talks about “all” of his kindergarten teachers.

The car parade started and all of the teachers were so happy to see their kiddos. Remote learning for the past 3 months has been hard! All they want to do is hug them! As much as this is a sad time, and we all wish that things were back to the way they were, it was really nice to see smiling faces the whole time! These amazing kids worked hard and THEY DID IT! On to first grade!! I saw some moms crying as they drove by which made me tear up too. We are hopeful that we will get to experience in the class room learning next year but if that isn’t something that will happen, we know that these teachers work so hard to give their kids the best learning experience remotely, and getting to see everyone come together to finish this big moment for their kids brought so much joy to all. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the 2020 Kindergarten Graduation!

**Parents have signed a photo consent form through the school and I was given permission from teachers that sharing online is allowed**

It’s been over a year of planning… a year dreaming about their wedding day. I still remember sitting down with Carrie and Kelsey meeting them for the first time at Starbucks learning all about them. How they met, where they work, what their wedding vision- was when all they knew at the time was their wedding date and their venue. We sat together in Starbucks for over 2 hours! I knew that these ladies were so much fun that their engagement session and wedding day were going to be amazing! Never in a million years would I have been able to tell you that just months before their big day, a world wide pandemic was happening.

Kelsey and I were in contact throughout the months leading up to their date. We were all hopeful that we would be able to still have their big wedding at  The Preserve at Chocorua on May 23, 2020. Just 1 year after Carrie proposed. We chatted over the phone, through emails, through texts and about 2 weeks before their day, they needed to have a change of plans, however, May 23 is a special date for them, and they were planning to exchange vows that day even if it was not the way they originally thought it would be. They will still have a wedding with many friends and family in attendance at their original venue in July and we all can not wait!

We were still all ordered to stay at home and only essential workers were to be out. Hopeful that this stay at home order would be changing soon, with the idea that social distancing would continue on, it finally did, the week of May 23! In just a short two weeks time, Kelsey and Carrie planned to have an intimate elopement at Kelsey’s parents home. They had a ceremony outside on the porch with their closest friends and immediate family present. It was truly such a perfect day and I am so thankful that I was a part of it! They shared their first dance in the back yard of the home and they even had many friends and family drive by to send their well wishes from a distance in a car parade! The love and support that these two ladies have just make me so happy. Everyone was so kind and so loving and it really made me so happy to witness all of the love with the small amount of people that were there. I am so excited to see them again, and capture a second wedding with even more love and support from their family and friends in July!

Carrie and Kelsey, THANK YOU. Thank you for having the BEST attitude when life was flipped upside down having to completely change your original wedding day plans. Thank you for keeping me in the loop with all updates and thank you for trusting me to capture the best day of you lives this day ( and again in July!) I am so grateful that I finally got to meet the handsome Brayden! He is one lucky little guy to have you both as his mom. Here are some of my favorite photos from your (1st) wedding day!

Kelsey and Carrie had their ceremony documented and shared on Facebook Live for those who were not able to be there in person this day. Here is the video:
