You want to know what I love? I love it when couples do something unique for their engagement session! Not only do I love it when they select unique locations and ideas for their shoot, I also love it when these ideas and locations have sentimental value. Rachel and Joe were so much fun to talk to during out initial Facetime meeting ( Thank Goodness for Facetime!). Once we picked the date for their engagement session, she came to me with the idea that they would love to go back to the location that Joe proposed. Joe proposed on October 20th at the, Belkin Family Lookout Farm in Natick, MA. Rachel told me “It had been a cloudy autumn day and literally when the sun came out and the light was perfect, I heard his voice behind me saying “Rachel look at this weird apple”. I turn around and he’s on one knee with the most gorgeous ring. He didn’t even have the chance to say anything before I blurted out “Yes!” He timed it perfectly too because my 30th birthday party was that night, allowing us to surprise my closest friends and have loved ones in from out of town.”
The day of our session was probably not a warm as it would have been in August but it was overcast for most of the session. We didn’t get that pop of light on the day he proposed but that is okay! May has been so crazy like that this year…. it has been cloudy and rainy for almost the whole month, but, we were able to have their session and we had the whole orchard to ourselves! It was just beautiful! They walked me around to different areas of the orchard and then showed me where Joe proposed where I got to hear their proposal story again but this time, it was even more amazing because we were there! In that same location it all happened. The smiles they had on their faces this day were contagious and I was just so happy that I got to not only capture their love, but fully see it in their faces.
Aside from the Orchard we had time so we went to a garden area that was oh so beautiful and then we went back to their house where I got to meet their fur baby, Pepper! We had so much fun and I am so excited to finally get to share their images with you! There were way too many photos to choose from and just select a “few” favorites! I know I say this all the time, but really, its so true! Joe and Rachel, I can not wait to see you guys again for your wedding day! Thank you so much for bringing me around these places and for letting me meet Pepper! She was just the sweetest! This year is going to go by fast, enjoy looking at these photos in the place that has so much meaning to you both! xoxo.
The day called for rain…no surprise there… the month of May has been nothing but rain so far, however the rain and over cast skies have not prevented me from capturing such amazing photos of my couples. I was in contact with Brooke and Conor as well as their vendor team throughout the weeks leading up to their wedding. Everyone was on the same page to be sure their day ran smoothly. I packed up my bubble umbrellas in the case of a downpour, but we didn’t need them! The rain stayed away for most of the day allowing Brooke and Conor to be married in front of their closest friends and family outside with a beautiful view of the harbor.
Brooke walked down the aisle with her dad to Conor who was standing under a beautiful arch that had their wedding flowers nicely placed on the top and side. Tears fell from his eyes as he watched his high school sweetheart walk toward him. His brothers next to him providing the most loving support. It brought tears to my eyes watching the love between brothers being shared at this amazing moment during the wedding day. I can only hope my boys support each other the way they did to one another. It truly was the sweetest thing.
Throughout the wedding day so many sweet bridesmaids and friends of this amazing couple came up to us and thanked us for being there. Could our job be any more rewarding? Sometimes I just don’t understand how we lucked out with such incredible clients. I’m so thankful!
Brooke and Conor, I know you have been waiting patiently all day for this blog post and I hope it is just what you needed to end your Tuesday night. There are so many photos, I had an extremely hard time choosing my favorite to share with you! I just love you two so much! You and your family made Lisa and I feel like family for the day. It was truly an honor to be a part of it. Thank you for trusting us to capture your story as you go from high school sweethearts to husband and wife. We are so happy for you! xoxo
This downtown engagement session was nothing but PERFECTION! I loved getting to meet Gina and Kevin and I can not wait to see them again for their big day! This location in Boston is a perfect place for having that amazing view of the city and the sun setting was just perfect as we walked around this sea port area! They were featured on Wedding Boston and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
I feel like I am destined to shoot photos sessions on over cast days! I mean, I set up sessions with my couples and families MONTHS in advance. I always set them up for really, whatever time works best for you, but I always suggest 2 hours before sun set. I feel like more often than not, we have clouds during out sessions more so than sun. Guess what…I am 100% fine with that!
I am able to shoot my sessions in the sun, at sun set, sun rise and even those over cast days. I know everyone usually wants that high sun peek glow but you do not need to stress if it happens to be the day of your session and the sun is not out for most of it. I got you.
Stephanie and Daniel’s engagement session started out overcast. At times we had some cloud movement and we did get some of the sunny sun set glow, but for the most part, its was a cloudy overcast perfect session and I loved every minute with them!
Stephanie and Daniel are High School Sweethearts! I have had a few couples who have been together since High School and it is just the sweetest thing! They brought their fur babies with them and I got to meet Stephanie’s MOH, her sister Emily! They were all so nice and I loved getting to know them! Their pups, Griffin and Sadie were so cute and loved getting their photos taken too! I can not wait to see them all again for their winter wedding next year at the Pavillion at Pinehills! xo.
Can you believe it?! Our baby boy isn’t a baby anymore. He is a handsome little strong willed toddler that is so amazing in so many ways! Just like I was with Ethan, I am sad in a way that he is not a baby anymore but I am excited to see who he becomes. Everyday is so different- he says so many words and is so funny, each day we are surprised in one way or another with him. PJ and I always will say ” did you hear what he just said” “did you see that?!” He is so funny and pretty much everything he does just makes us laugh…. a lot! He is learning so much, he looks up to his best friend and brother Ethan and says new words and phrases daily. He knows all of the words to his favorite- The Wheels on the Bus and Baa Baa Black-sheep. He is starting to get the hang of the ABC’s and he can bust out the lyrics and moves to any song from the Greatest Showman and Moana. He is an amazing little boy who is so curious and always following Ethan around. We love him so much.
He makes the silliest faces and we cant get enough of them. He will squish his face together into this adorable little smile with his eyes closed- which we have named “Scrunch Face”, he will stick out his tongue and also do a really funny surprised face just to make you laugh. He expressed excitement with high energy screaming and chanting “yay, woohoo”!
He is a broad dude who weighs a whopping 30 lbs and he is wearing 2T/3T shirts and 2T pants. He loves to jump and throw himself down to the ground for fun! He will scream ” Cannonball” every time he does it. He loves to read books- his favorites are anything that has to do with trucks, and Goodnight Moon. He knows his colors and is starting to get the hang of counting! He started gymnastics in January and has been loving it! We go to the gym a lot a he loves that he gets to play there!
Henry loves trying new foods! He is a great eater ( for the most part) and his favorite foods are hummus and avocado! He knows a few words in sign language but he talks really well so he uses his voice more.
He is obsessed with his brother Ethan. I always say “ahh monkey see monkey do!!” He does whatever Ethan does! They have their moments where they fight a little but most of the time they are best friends and play together so nicely! It’s makes me so happy.
He rarely sits down unless Elmo, Super Wings, or Boss Baby is on the TV. If you ask him what his name is he will tell you “Boss Baby” and he will say it proudly! It’s true…. he really is a boss baby. He made his first build a bear for his birthday and that is something he loves to cuddle with at night when going to bed. He will say ” Ethie go night night? dada go night night? mama go night night?” Every time he goes down for a nap and/or bedtime just to be sure he isn’t missing anything!
I could go on and on and on about him (and his brother). Everyday he does something hilarious and says something new. As hard as tantrums are, he is still so fun to be around and I forgot that this age is really neat to watch as they learn and explore all around them. He is so interested in using the potty and has filled up a sticker chart with 50 spaces for using the potty! He is still in diapers but that is a big milestone for having the interest and actually trying. He will tell me “I go pee pee on potty!” and he will go and get the stool to do it.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Its’ a collection of images I took specifically for his 2nd birthday. He got his first hair cut the day before, and then we went outside where I followed him around catching his personality on camera for a few minutes. I started creating Family Year Books starting with 2014 and while I am still working on them to be caught up by the end of the year, I am excited to have nice photos of him to add to our 2019 book.
