You want to know what I love? I love it when couples do something unique for their engagement session! Not only do I love it when they select unique locations and ideas for their shoot, I also love it when these ideas and locations have sentimental value. Rachel and Joe were so much fun to talk to during out initial Facetime meeting ( Thank Goodness for Facetime!). Once we picked the date for their engagement session, she came to me with the idea that they would love to go back to the location that Joe proposed. Joe proposed on October 20th at the, Belkin Family Lookout Farm in Natick, MA. Rachel told me “It had been a cloudy autumn day and literally when the sun came out and the light was perfect, I heard his voice behind me saying “Rachel look at this weird apple”. I turn around and he’s on one knee with the most gorgeous ring. He didn’t even have the chance to say anything before I blurted out “Yes!” He timed it perfectly too because my 30th birthday party was that night, allowing us to surprise my closest friends and have loved ones in from out of town.”
The day of our session was probably not a warm as it would have been in August but it was overcast for most of the session. We didn’t get that pop of light on the day he proposed but that is okay! May has been so crazy like that this year…. it has been cloudy and rainy for almost the whole month, but, we were able to have their session and we had the whole orchard to ourselves! It was just beautiful! They walked me around to different areas of the orchard and then showed me where Joe proposed where I got to hear their proposal story again but this time, it was even more amazing because we were there! In that same location it all happened. The smiles they had on their faces this day were contagious and I was just so happy that I got to not only capture their love, but fully see it in their faces.
Aside from the Orchard we had time so we went to a garden area that was oh so beautiful and then we went back to their house where I got to meet their fur baby, Pepper! We had so much fun and I am so excited to finally get to share their images with you! There were way too many photos to choose from and just select a “few” favorites! I know I say this all the time, but really, its so true! Joe and Rachel, I can not wait to see you guys again for your wedding day! Thank you so much for bringing me around these places and for letting me meet Pepper! She was just the sweetest! This year is going to go by fast, enjoy looking at these photos in the place that has so much meaning to you both! xoxo.

I arrived in DC on a Friday night. It was raining and called for rain most of the weekend. We came up with a plan to take photos indoors and/or under covered buildings if needed. We started our Saturday with walk to get coffee and a sister trip to the nail salon. We had so much fun since we really never get to do that together anymore! After that we walked back in the rain to start getting ready for their engagement session. As we were getting ready, the rain stopped and the sun came out!!! This was so exciting since Danielle really wanted photos outside at several locations throughout DC and since the rain stopped and the sun was in and out of clouds, we were able to go to several locations and stay outside!
Danielle and Kevin are planning a black tie wedding for October next year in Philadelphia. We talked a lot about clothing choices for their session and I told them that I really pictured a long black dress for her and a really nice suit for him with black tie. They both looked amazing! Danielle found the perfect dress, it was like that dress was made for her. We decided to stick with their formal wear the first day as we walked all around DC and captured their photos are each of the monuments. The next day they went with a more casual look and we stayed in one location.
Kevin is just wonderful and the more I’m around him, the more I love him. I have prayed for YEARS for him without knowing who he was and it’s so surreal to look at these pictures and know that God has been preparing him for Danielle for a long time. These two are going to make an incredible team as husband and wife!! I CAN’T WAIT!! What an exciting season of life!!!! Since our session was a full weekend, there are so many amazing photos I wanted to share with you! I can not wait to see them again for the holidays this year and I CAN NOT WAIT to celebrate on their wedding day!
Having sessions in the dead of winter can be scary for many photographers and it raises a few red flags like: a.) It could be FREEZING! b.) The weather could not want to work with us that day and it could be extremely windy. c.) not having a lot of color to pop the image and bring your eye in! So, knowing that Jocelyn and Angel were having a spring wedding in May of 2018, we knew they wanted to have a winter engagement session in hopes that there would be snow on the ground. Well, I knew their winter engagement session was going to be so beautiful but what I wasn’t sure of was if I could make that promise that there would be snow on the ground…
Three days before their session we had our 4th Nor-Easter in New England which caused quite a bit of snow! I checked in with Jocelyn and we exchanged our snowy excitement through email a few times as we prepared for their engagement session! It was really going to be her wish come true, with snow on the ground for their engagement session! The location they picked was absolutely beautiful- The Governor Oliver Ames Estate in Easton, MA. We had so many different areas we were able to walk around and explore, the sun was out on the way but was hidden behind a cloud up until the very end, leaving us with a beautiful glow!
Jocelyn and Angel, Thank you so much for braving the cold with me! With snow on the ground, light wind and an amazing setting I hope these photos are everything you wanted and MORE! I am so excited to see you both all dressed up on your wedding day in just about 2 months! Your winter engagement session was simply perfect and it was really hard for me to choose just a few favorites to share!
Hi Friends! Happy Thursday! This Saturday is my first wedding of 2018 and I am so excited for it! Emily and Mike were also my last session of 2017- so they definitely have a special place in my heart, thats for sure!
This session started out at one location- It was pretty cold outside so we were hoping to get inside at a place in Plymouth so we were not freezing, however, that did not work out quite as planned, so the session turned out to be outside! It was amazing! Snow started falling just as our session started and while we were cold, these two were so great embracing the cold with the fur babies, Blitz and Badger!
Emily and Mike have been talking to me about how their pups will be in their wedding. It is so cute to see them interacting with their dogs and I can not wait to see them as Ring Pups! It was great we could be outside for this session so Blitz and Badger were close by at all times. In their wedding questionnaire I sent out, Emily was clear a she stated they want as many photos of their dogs as possible! 🙂
Emily and Mike, I can not wait to see you guys this weekend!!! Here are a few favorites from our session together, although it was really hard to just pick a few…!
We had been emailing each other for what seemed like for ever in planning their wedding and their engagement session, and then finally, the engagement session day was here! Dowses Beach in Osterville is BEAUTIFUL! This was my first time at this location and I just loved all the layers about it! Speaking of layers…. we didn’t have any and it was FREEZING during their November date! We didn’t let the cold stop us from having the best night and I just have to say how amazing these two are! Poor Molly by the end of our session couldn’t feel her toes!!
Chris proposed to Molly at Great Road Kitchen in Littleton, MA which just so happens to be their favorite restaurant. He proposed this past July with a plate full of Barnstable oysters and Champagne! It’s so true what they say… ” Every seashell has a story…”
Chris and Molly are planning a summer wedding this year at the Osterville Historical Society! I loved getting to know them and I can not wait to see them again for their wedding day! It seems so far away, but I know the months are going to fly by and their big day of celebrating with friends will be here before we know it! Here are just a FEW favorites from their session!
