Granite Links Golf Club Wedding Venue| Kevin and Gina

One of my favorite moments I get to experience at a wedding is watching the bride and groom really realize how much their life has just changed. When this happens, there are tears and hugs and a few minutes of just being in awe of what just happened. This moment can come at any time throughout the wedding day. For Kevin and Gina, their moments happened at different times during the day. Kevin had tears in his eyes as Gina walked down the aisle with her dad.  Gina’s moment was after they recessed down the aisle and embraced outside of the ceremony. Her tears of joy were sweet enough to make anyone watching get emotional. They were just SO happy. It was the sweetest thing to see and I couldn’t be any happier for them!

I know I mention the weather a lot but honestly, I can’t believe what we experienced this day, It was probably one of the most beautiful days of the entire summer. It felt like October and not the end of August!! It was amazing! Not only was the weather beautiful, this entire wedding day was stunning! It really was so perfect and the smiles on their faces throughout the entire day let everyone know that this was their best day ever! During their ceremony, the sun came in and out of the clouds but the way that the wedding party was standing on a hill allowed me to capture this absolutely gorgeous image from their ceremony. The sun position, clouds and just where I happened to be standing, with my 35mm lens on, the settings I used, and the final edit produced this amazing photo that I am thinking about printing on a canvas for myself to hang in my office!

The Pavilion at Granite Links Golf Club is absolutely beautiful. With views overlooking the Boston Skyline, and the most beautiful sun set, I loved getting to be there again this year! I loved the simplicity of their decor that tied their day together so nicely. Just wait until you see their reception decor with the view of Boston. It was just stunning and the sun set all together just made their ending to a perfect day, even more perfect…. if that can even happen!

Kevin and Gina had their dog Charley join them for a few moments on their wedding day, just after they shared in their first look. The love that these two have for their fur baby is just the cutest. They were so excited to see her and I loved that she was included in their wedding day for photos, again in Kevin’s vows and then a few more times during their toasts at the reception. It was so sweet! I loved that I got to see Charley again from their engagement session. The photos of the moments with her are so special.

It was so nice that they were able to include their siblings on this day as their officiant, brother of the bride, did an amazing job sharing about their relationship and their love for one another.  They are the sweetest duo. Lisa and I felt so honored that we were the ones who had the opportunity to capture their day for their family and friends to remember forever!! Enjoy some of my favorite images and as always…get ready for a lot of photos in this post….

Boston Seaport Engagement Session | Brittney & Sean

Friends! I have to tell you, I just love the Boston seaport! It’s always a treat for me to be in the city and these engagement photos just make my heart happy! The backdrop of Boston was just the perfect view for these two before heading home to DC. We had so much fun and I can’t stop smiling when going through their images!

Brittney and Sean are planning a winter wedding on Cape Cod at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel! I can not wait to get back there for the 2nd time this year!! Brittney and Sean grew up around Boston and are currently living in Washington DC. They flew to Boston to spend some time with family and then to meet me! They chose this perfect backdrop for their session because Boston is their “home”. They grew up in surrounding neighborhoods and met on a church mission trip to Vermont in 2012! Brittney was in her senior year of HS and Sean was in his junior year. They were best friends for a year before Sean made the first move and here they are!

We had so much fun walking all around the Boston Seaport! They had me laughing at just about every prompt I gave them and I have to say… Sean is such a pro at my nuzzle pose! It was such a great night to end the weekend and I am so excited to share this sneak peek with you of some of my favorites!! Brittney and Sean, I am so excited to meet your friends and family on your wedding day! Thank you for such a fun session! I can not wait to see you guys again! xoxo

Wychmere Beach Club Wedding Venue | Joel & Rachel

It was a FULL weekend for me thats for sure! I had back to back weddings on Friday and Saturday and I had the best time at both! Sunday I was in Boston for an engagement session and Monday I was back in MA for a newborn lifestyle session! All of these events I am so excited to share with you! You see, I might be exhausted, but I love my job and I get so excited when I have new work to share with you!

Rachel and Joel were such a pleasure to be around! They had this calming presence about them the whole day and it instantly made the day feel like pure perfection. Now, I usually meet my couples before their wedding day during an engagement session, however, Rachel and Joel were living in Cleveland at the time they booked with me ( a little over 2 years ago!) so we did not get to meet each other before their wedding day. Let me tell you, I was SO excited to meet them! Not having any clue of who they are before getting to the wedding day can be a little intimidating. When I am with my couples I just don’t stop talking. I prompt them and I tell them exactly what I need them to do. Were Rachel and Joel going to like my personality?? All of these feelings of the unknown quickly washed away as soon as I met them! Both had smiles from ear to ear and they were so happy to do anything I needed them to do. They were wonderful to work with and I am so honored they chose me to be their wedding photographer!

I had a lot of favorite moments from their wedding day. Getting to spend time with the wedding party on the beach after the ceremony was so much fun! We were all laughing and having a great time, and I even let them all go with enough time to join in cocktail hour. I loved getting to spend a ton of time with Rachel and Joel for their beach portraits as well as sun set portraits, just wait until to see those photos! Another moment that I loved was when Rachel’s grandfather gave the blessing. He is the absolute cutest thing and I just wanted to bring him home with me! His speech was the sweetest and he even got up on the dance floor a few times and busted out some great moves! Okay, one more! I loved Joel’s reaction when seeing Rachel for the first time walking down the aisle. He had the biggest smile on his face and he gave her a little wave! I thought it was just the sweetest gesture!! They both cried while reading their vows which was also, soooo sweet! Gah!

Rachel and Joel, Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart for trusting us on your wedding day. The day was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t be any more excited for you both! Rachel you looked absolutely stunning and Joel looked so handsome! It was so great getting to meet your sweet friends and family. I hope you are enjoying your first few days of Mr. & Mrs. and you love getting to look back on such a magical wedding day. xoxo

10 Childhood Photos that will Inspire you to pick up your Camera | Motherhood

10 Childhood Photos that will Inspire you to pick up your Camera | Motherhood

I realize that I have been focusing a lot on weddings. Posting mostly photos from my Ali B Couples special day, sharing lots of wedding wisdom this winter. I am extremely excited I am able to to do that and I hope brides and grooms find it inspirational when planning their wedding.

Today I wanted to do something a little different and start a Motherhood category on the blog. I know you all know my kiddos. They are the joy in my life and I just love sharing their cuteness… See.. I mean.. Look at them!

But in all seriousness, I am going to share posts in this section not just of my kiddos, but kiddos I get to meet throughout the years as well! To start, I am sharing my 10 favorite photos that I have taken of kiddos to inspire you to pick up your camera and shoot away! You do not need a professional camera to get amazing photos of your children!

  1. Let them make a mess. I love it when my kids are laughing so hard and making a mess…Deep down..I really do not love the mess, but I love their laughter and pure joy when they throw all their blankets on the floor and their stuffed “friends” When they do this, they almost always pretend to sleep. So grab the camera and get the shot! It’s not all the time they place nice together.

2. Reading– Henry has a love for books! He will stop what he is doing at any time during the day to sit down and read. I caught him sitting on Ethan’s bed reading a book from our little library. I saw him and loved how the light was on him I had to grab a photo. If he saw me taking this picture he would have probably moved and told me “No Picture”. So, try to sneak it for the best candid!

3. Sleeping– When I get both of my kids to sleep at the same time I feel like supermom! I work during that time but I do spend some time just watching them. Ethan is 4 1/2 and he is just the sweetest. I mean look at him sleeping. Sneak in a photo of a nap so you can cherish it forever! Especially when they no longer nap as they get older.

4. Adventure– Everyday is an adventure with kiddos! You can use your phone and capture awesome photos. ( There are some cell phone shots in this post- can you tell what ones??)

5. At the hospital- After having a baby I know you want to savor each moment! Bring your camera and have visitors snap a few for you if you can’t do it. The hospital (Fresh 48) photos are always my favorites.

6. Being Playful– Dress them up and take them out! Here was a fun sister moment that I just so happened to catch….!

7. Jumping Puddles– Get the rain boots on and get outside! Let them go to town in the puddles! They will love you for it!

8. Focus on the details– Look at their hands. Are they chunky? Do you just love their little hand dimples? I am sure you do! So capture them! When they can have a prop- like a toy or leaves as this photos has, its lets them play and they will “show” you what they got giving you time to grab that photo and not have it be blurry.

9. Silhouette by the window– Here we had a sleep over with a friend and it was snowing outside. The boys were playing at the window and watching the snow fall. They looked so cute standing there and it came out to be a dark photo I turned black and white.

10. Love– Capturing the love they have for other kids/siblings is just the cutest! When they show their love to someone try to capture those moments. They happen way too quickly! You will love that you have those images.
